the sankasa kamon
The sankasa kamon of the European Shinkage ryu Renmei was designed by Diederik Corvers of Klaar Ontwerpen, Rotterdam, The Netherlands. It was, of course, inspired by the famous Yagyu nikasa mon, still in use with the Nagoya based Yagyukai of Nobuharu sensei. Apart from this historical link, the three hats represent the three original members of the Renmei practicing Shinkage ryu, now responsible for Shinkage ryu in Europe: Patrick Dupin and Franck Cengizalp in France, and Joris van Nispen in The Netherlands. They work together in close partnership and assist Matsuoka sensei and Kinomoto sensei wherever they can.
